Despite what it says, I don’t feel entirely at home here.

Personally, I tend to use the internet to look for interesting stuff about writing and sport.  And me. Look no further, then, for the guiding principle behind the site.

The BOOKS pages are dominated by comment on the books of Richard Beard. This is as it should be.  There’s some WRITING, updated as often as I have anything new. And because this is an ideal world, there’s also a variety of SPORTS coverage.

BOOKS – reviews, possibly extracts, and brief explanations of the structural principles behind each of the novels. There are also links to Amazon, just in case.

WRITING - new stories, or squibs published elsewhere on the web.  This section may also include reviews of books by other people, and I hope to add to it on a fairly regular basis.

SPORTS will also feature new writing, but about sport. There’ll be some overlap here with WRITING: reports of sporting events in which I’m involved have been known to stray from the truth.
